Salvation + Foundation = Transformation.
Salvation + Foundation = Transformation.
Our word for this month is COURAGE
Definition: a God-given strength and boldness to act in obedience and faith, even in the face of adversity, knowing that God is with us and will see us through.
2 Timothy 1:6-7 AMP
6 That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[a]with those of the elders at your ordination].
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Pastor Sharon's journal entry for this week. Inherited faith caught my attention while reading through the scripture this week.
As you know we are all about words here at TCC so of course I had to define inherited.
Definition: receiving something, whether tangible or intangible, as a gift or blessing from God, often emphasizing a special relationship between God and his people, and can also refer to eternal life and the kingdom of God.
vs.5. Paul spoke to Timothy which is his spiritual son in the gospel, about the faith of his grandmother and his mother. Based on the definition provided faith was passed on from these two women to Timothy; however it was reactivated by the laying of hand via Paul the Apostle.
The fact that Paul even mentions these two women caused me to pause. In the Jewish culture women were not recognized openly or publicly. Since, Paul's mission, was to minister to the Gentiles (bring us into the knowledge of Jesus Christ). His liberties extended beyond that of the average minister.
1. With great "courage" Paul mentioned women in is writings often.
2. He recognized that both matriarchs' contributed to the spiritual growth of Timothy.
This was a phenomenal devotional time for me, how about you? What did you learn this week?
